July saw hardly a cloud in the sky leading to us generating over 1MWh of solar electricity for the first time ever. Extraordinary numbers.

We paid just 4p/kWh for our electricity in June - a mix of free solar generation, overnight off peak and a smidgeon of peak rate (because I accidentally turned off the battery at one stage!) Total cost £73 - £37 into the car, enough for 3,250 miles and £36 to run the house - cooking, lighting, TV and our Air Conditioning.

With record temperatures being set across Europe, I look at how much our home air conditioning costs to run. Spoiler alert: Nothing at all....

Our solar panels really help reduce our costs at this time of year. The whole month was just £63 - the house, cooking, lighting and 2,850 miles in the cars.
