We aim to make everything simple, practical and jargon‑free.
3. What we don't do
To avoid any confusion:
-
we don’t install equipment
-
we don’t certify electrical or heating work
-
we don’t guarantee the performance of products or installers
-
we don’t provide regulated financial advice
-
we don’t make decisions on your behalf
Our role is to guide, explain and support. The final decisions are always yours.
4. Your responsibilities
To give you the best advice, we need accurate information about your home.
You agree to:
-
provide honest and complete details
-
tell us about any changes that might affect our advice
-
make your own decisions about installers and products
-
check any permissions you may need (planning, DNO, etc.)
5. Fees and payment
We’ll always tell you the cost of our service upfront. Payment is due at the time of booking unless we’ve agreed otherwise. If you need to cancel or reschedule, just let us know — we’re reasonable humans and will always try to be fair.
6. Our advice and limitations
We base our guidance on the information you give us, industry data, and our own experience.
However:
-
all modelling involves assumptions
-
real‑world performance varies between homes
-
we can’t guarantee future energy prices
-
we’re not responsible for the work of installers or manufacturers
We’ll always be honest about uncertainties and help you make informed decisions.
7. Intellectual property
All reports, models, guides and materials we create remain our intellectual property.
You’re welcome to use them for your own personal use, but please don’t share, publish or resell them without permission.

we’re legally required to
9. Complaints
If something isn’t right, please tell us. We’ll do our best to fix the issue quickly and fairly.
10. Ending our agreement
Either of us can end the engagement at any time. If you’ve paid for work we haven’t yet done, we’ll refund you. If we’ve already completed work, that part of the fee is non‑refundable.

My three kids and I live in an old semi-detached property with poor insulation. Budgets are very tight, and I’ve been ripped off by builders in the past. I had no idea that there were grants available and, with Dave’s help, I’m pursuing the Warm Homes grant. It would make such a difference to us if we could get some loft insulation, improve the oldest windows and maybe even get some solar panels like our neighbours have as I know this will reduce my bills. I like that Dave explains things in a way I can understand.

Dave and his family live a few doors down from us. They’ve had EVs for several years and when we decided to get our first EV, our usual electrician didn’t seem all that confident about installing a charger due to where our consumer unit is. I talked to Dave who had faced the same challenge a few years ago, and he recommended his installer who were great, helped by already knowing how to run the cable through the ceiling void. Sometimes it’s who you know that matters!

Dave and I connected on social media through our shared interest in electric heating — we both use the Tepeo ZEB, a heat battery that mimics the behaviour of a gas boiler. He’s clearly passionate about the green energy transition and genuinely enjoys helping others in our community of ZEB owners. He’s also always learning — recently diving into Home Assistant, which is a powerful tool for anyone wanting to monitor and optimise their home’s energy use.
